Counselling for Retirement
What it feels like and what you can expect
Retirement is often talked about as freedom. For many people, it feels more complicated than that.
Work may have provided structure, identity, purpose, or a sense of usefulness. When it ends, the practical changes are obvious. The emotional ones are often harder to name.
This counselling package offers space to talk about that shift properly, without pressure to enjoy it or make the most of it.
Who this is for
This may be right for you if

-
You are approaching retirement or have recently retired.
-
You feel unsettled, flat, anxious, or disconnected.
-
You miss the structure or identity work once gave you.
-
You feel unsure who you are without your job.
-
You feel pressure to be grateful but do not feel OK.
How the package works
This is offered as a short term counselling package rather than open ended therapy.
You can choose
-
An 8 session package, suitable for stabilising, adjustment, and clarity.
-
A 12 session package, suitable for deeper identity and meaning work.
Sessions last 50 minutes.
They can be weekly or fortnightly.
We review the work together as we go.
Why a package
Retirement marks an ending as well as a beginning. Endings need space.
A package provides
-
Containment during a period of change.
-
Time to process loss rather than move past it.
-
A clear structure without rushing outcomes.
-
Support to approach the next phase with more choice and steadiness.
What this is not
-
This is not coaching.
-
This is not goal setting or productivity work.
-
This is counselling for a significant life transition.
